I don't want to get all artsy on you, but the whole idea of starting from scratch doesn't excite me that much. I am more of a lets-straighten-out-this-mess kind of guy. I need to have substance to work on. I need a problem to solve. Fighting windmills doesn't rock my socks off!!

I disagree :) I think the most beautiful parts of the creative experience are the first step - compiling emptiness - and the last step- realizing that the emptiness has turned to something beautiful.
It's a fantastic feeling.

i also agree with roba :) ...seriously..it is the most satisfying experience in retrospect...that is after all is said and done...the step back and looking on the complete work...
but that doesn't change my opinion...it is terrfying to start with!...and thats probably the reason why it is so satisfying at the end!

i dont know, see some people like to see opportunities and gaps and liek to fill them (start from scratch) we call those entrepneurs. And really the world is not built to encourage those poor souls!
then you have the people, that go in fix the mess and move on. you know the consultants!
both are hectic jobs but the later is more fun! Fixing something everyone thought it is impossible to fix! If thats not great i dont know what is!
