I was talking to a friend recently, and we both had a question which we couldn't find an answer for: Whatever happened to Toshka?!! If anybody has any idea, please tell me. Seriously!
umm dude, its still on track....Last time i checkedthey were incorporating the toshka labour into the 4m job opportunities, promised by THE DUDE's election campaign..
Why the fuck are we still interested in that kind of crap i ask myself, the fucking pharoah cant subside in ease, no, he has to come along and build the worlds largest pumping station, his stamp on egyptian agriculture....problem is though, we dont need this kind of labour....You produce far more with machinery nowadays in agriculture, the US can feed the whole freakin globe, including itself i might add, with only 2% of the pop, working in agri...i mean shit....we need somethin sustainable already!!By 2020 we'll have half of the minimum required water supplies per person, in egypt....so this is my message to the THE DUDE, dude, duuude, fix the fuckin irrigation systems man, make a "care for water" awarness campaign or some shit, WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GODFORSAKEN DESERT, everywhere u look there is more sand, and yet....
Haha! I almost wrote my thesis about Toshka....but I think Blondie said it much better than I ever could. LOL at Mubarak and the amber waves of grain!!!!
Toska...I thought they only had this project to be able to ask us to write essays about it in our Thanaweya Amma Exams. -- just kidding. Seriously, this project costed Egypt millars of dollars, and proved to be a complete loss of money. I am wondering what is the logical explanation of prefering to cultivate the desert (which cost way more) while allowing people to build on the already very fertile agricultural land in the nile delta... laki Allah ya Masr!
