Hi Honey

Moved on! Check TheCairoCalls

Two examples of religious off-the-wallness:
  1. A Muslim cleric declaring that eating honey is haram (forbidden) because, get this, bees collect nectar from flowers in other people's gardens, so they're in effect stealing it!!!!
  2. The coptic church declaring that eating honey is haram during Lent because it is after all a product of a living soul!!
Now that's something we can all agree on!

Moved on!

Hehe that's awesome. It totally made me laugh.

Stupid "clerics". I thought that honey was given a recommendation in the Qur'an.

But silly me, thinking that I can suggest something over the advice of a learned man.

Just a clarification:

The Coptic Church says, during Holy Lent, you cannot consume anything from animals, only plants, so if you consider a bee an animal and not a plant you can see the point. I don't think the church thinks a bee is "a living soul"
But, with that said, this is coming from a guy who fasts a little "differently" than many others :)

But I got the point...and kinda silly!

It seems there's a competition going on about who-can-declare-most-things-haram.
